About quant internships
Quant internships cover trading, research and software development at proprietary trading firms, market makers and quantitative hedge funds. Interns work on real problems from day one, often alongside classes on markets and probability.
How recruiting usually works
Quant firms tend to recruit closer to the summer than banks do, often in the late summer and fall before, and many hire on a rolling basis. Expect online assessments in math, probability or coding, sometimes timed games, then several technical interviews. Brain teasers, expected-value questions and mental math are common for trading roles; coding interviews for developer roles.
Every firm runs its own process, so always check SIG (Susquehanna)'s posting for the details.
