This explains what information MyOfferPrep collects, why, and who sees it. We collect only what we need to run the service, we don't sell your information, and we don't show ads. MyOfferPrep is operated by Jake Rubin, a sole proprietor based in New York.
1. What we collect
From everyone:
- Your email address and your password (stored in scrambled form; we can't read it).
- Your first and last name, and your school.
- The date you accepted our Terms.
- Your time zone, so session times are shown correctly.
- Any extra email addresses you add for booking emails, once you've confirmed each one with a code.
- If you sign up with a university address, a personal email address as well, so booking emails reach you even if your university inbox blocks them.
From students: your graduation year and the field(s) you're recruiting for.
From coaches: the firm where you received your offer, the city it is in, your track, the kinds of help you offer, your bio, an optional photo, your prices, your weekly availability and days off, whether you say you received a return offer, which coach referred you if you joined through a coach's link, and a link to your LinkedIn profile. If you choose to link your own calendar, we also keep its private address, and read from it the times you are busy. We do not keep the events themselves.
About bookings: who booked whom, when, for how long, what was paid, any note the student wrote for the coach when booking, whether the session was cancelled or reported as missed, and when each person opened the video call.
If you sign in with Google: Google tells us your name and email address. We don't receive your Google password or access to anything else in your account.
2. What we don't collect
- Card numbers. Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us.
- Coaches' bank details or ID. These are collected by Stripe when a coach sets up payouts, not by us.
- We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Who sees what
- Anyone visiting the site can see an approved coach's first name, photo, school, firm, track, offer city, kinds of help, bio, prices, ratings, and a return offer tag if they have one.
- Nobody but our team sees a coach's LinkedIn link. We use it only to verify coaches. A coach's full last name is shown only to students who have booked a session with them.
- Reviews are public, without your name. If you rate or review a coach, the rating and your words appear on their profile marked only as from a verified student.
- Student profiles are not public. Other students and coaches can't browse them.
- After a session is booked, the coach sees the student's full name, email address and any note they wrote when booking, and the student sees the coach's full name and email address.
- A coach's linked calendar. A coach can choose to link their own calendar so that times they are busy elsewhere are not offered to students. We read only when they are busy, not what the events are, and we don't store the events. Nobody else sees the address or the calendar. A coach can unlink it at any time.
- Our team can see account and booking information in order to run the service, approve coaches, and sort out problems.
4. How we use it
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To show coaches to students and let students book them.
- To take payments, pay coaches, and handle cancellations and refunds.
- To send you emails about your account and your sessions: sign-in codes, booking confirmations, reminders and cancellations, and any alert you ask for when an internship program opens. Students with Timelines access can also get reminders before application deadlines; the box for them is ticked at sign-up, and you can turn them off at sign-up, on your account page, or with the unsubscribe link in every reminder. We don't send other marketing email without asking first.
- To check that coaches are who they say they are.
- To prevent misuse and meet our legal obligations.
5. Companies that help us run the site
We share information with these services only as far as each one needs to do its job:
- Supabase: stores accounts, profiles, photos and bookings.
- Stripe: processes payments, including Timelines subscriptions, and pays coaches.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Daily: runs the video calls. We don't record sessions.
- Vercel: hosts the website, and counts visits to each page without cookies and without identifying you.
- Cloudflare: checks that sign-ups and sign-ins come from a person, not a bot, using information about your browser and connection. It does not set advertising cookies.
- Google: if you choose to sign in with Google.
We don't sell your information to anyone. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.
6. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work, such as the one that keeps you signed in. We don't use cookies for advertising or to track you across other sites.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is open. You can ask us to delete your account from your account or profile page. When we do, your login, profile, photo and availability are removed. We keep records of bookings and payments for as long as tax and accounting rules require, with your personal details removed where we can.
8. Your choices
- You can edit your profile at any time when signed in.
- You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to close your account and delete your details, by emailing support@myofferprep.com.
9. Age
MyOfferPrep is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
10. Changes and contact
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you by email or on the site. Questions: support@myofferprep.com.
